What is Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture?
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture combines all of the benefits of TCM Acupuncture with acupuncture points on the face to improve the quality of the skin. To create radiant beauty on the outside, the inside of the body has to be in balance. Needles are first inserted all over the body to help regulate hormones and increase TCM organ function. Tiny intradermal needles are then inserted on the face and hairline to bring direct blood and qi flow to the area.
What does a treatment look like?
Each treatment will start with a rundown of what you would like to see achieved and then a TCM diagnosis will be conducted. This involves looking at your tongue and taking your pulse to see what is going on inside. When yin, yang, qi and blood are out of balance, it will show on the tongue and in the pulse.
First needles will be inserted in the ears and along the body to take care of your body from the inside, so that we can achieve beautiful skin on the outside. Tiny needles are then inserted in the face to help bring direct flow to the area. Needles are left in for approximately 30 minutes. During this time you may feel tingling, warmth and heaviness in some areas- this is the acupuncture working its magic!
After the needles are taken out you will receive a facial massage using different techniques, including facial Gua Sha (not to worry- no marks will be left on your face).
When should I start seeing results?
You may notice small improvements after the first treatment (dewy skin, a nice glow, tighter feeling skin) but typically it is after seven treatments where the most remarkable changes are noticed.
How often should I get treatment?
Usually 12 treatments is recommended- 2 times a week for 4 weeks, and then once a week until the 12 weeks is up. Treatments once a month are good maintain your new and improved skin. This is quite a commitment, but in order to achieve the best possible results, commitment is key.
