Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic is a drug-free, non-invasive and very often hands on treatment approach for problems related to the joints, nerves, muscles, tendons and ligaments of the body.
Listed below are the most common treatment approaches we use in our office. The type of treatment recommended will depend on your age, your medical history, your fitness level and how much pain you are in at the time of your visit. A treatment approach used for one patient may be very different for another patient.
We are sensitive to the fact that sometimes first time patients of chiropractic care may be nervous or hesitant. We go out of our way to make sure that you feel safe and comfortable during any visit in our office. Any treatment will be fully discussed with the patient prior to its application.
While chiropractic care is a popular health care choice among healthy adults, chiropractic care can be a safe and effective choice for children, pregnant women and the elderly too. Techniques can be easily modified to ensure safety for special populations.
Chiropractic Adjustment
Chiropractic care may involve a chiropractic adjustment, otherwise known as joint manipulation.
Myofascial Release Techniques (MRT)
What is MRT?
M.R.T. stands for Myofascial Release Technique. It is a highly successful hands-on treatment method to address problems in the soft tissues in the body, including the muscles, ligaments, fascia, and nerves.
Spinal Stability Exercises
Spinal stability exercises are exercises prescribed for the patient to do at home to retrain and strengthen the muscles that stabilize the spine. Joint movement is vital to health and proper function, but this joint motion also needs to be controlled adequately.
Graston Technique
The Graston Technique® incorporates a patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively detect and treat scar tissue and restrictions that affect normal function.
Kinesiotaping
Kinesiotaping is a therapeutic taping method that gives support and stability to your muscles and joints without affecting circulation or range of motion. It is used to promote healing, for pain management, postural correction, to enhance performance or to fascilitate lymphatic drainage. Kinesiotape is latex free and can be worn for days at a time.
Custom Foot Orthotics
Orthotics are custom-made shoe inserts that act to correct abnormal foot motion by changing the manner in which the foot contacts the ground. This provides the proper support needed to stabilize the foot and reduce mechanical strain to the entire musculoskeletal system.
Functional Rehabilitation
Functional Rehabilitation is a series of simple home-based exercises prescribed to re-train proper movement patterns. It helps re-establish normal coordination and integration of spinal and extremity function that has become altered and is preventing or interfering with daily activities.
Low Intensity Laser Therapy
What is Laser Therapy & How Does It Work?
Low intensity laser therapy, also known as cold or low level laser therapy is a modality that can be used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. It works by supplying energy to the body in the form of light that penetrates deep into tissue and is absorbed at the cellular level. The cells transform this energy into chemical energy which the body then uses to begin its own tissue repairs.
