Low Back Pain

Low back pain is a very common occurrence, and is considered a modern heath epidemic based on its impact, both to the individual and to the health care system. Traditionally it has been thought that the majority of acute low back pain episodes will resolve on their own in 4-6 weeks. This statistic is misleading however, because research also shows that low back pain has a very high rate of recurrence following the initial onset of pain or injury. In many cases low back pain that remains unresolved has the potential to become chronic, which will significantly affect the health status and quality of life of the back pain sufferer. There is now a growing body of evidence which supports treatment to prevent chronicity in individuals at risk, rather than waiting to treat only those in who it becomes evident.

At Fall River Chiropractic, we take an integrated approach to low back disorders by employing a range of treatment modalities, such as chiropractic adjustments, Myofascial Release Technique (MRT) soft tissue treatment, low intensity laser therapy, spinal stability exercise, functional rehabilitation, and patient education to enable the back pain sufferer to understand their back pain and how to treat and manage their condition.
