SUSAN YOUNG
Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate
Susan is a graduate of Acadia University with a Master of Education in Counselling. She is an active member with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists.
Susan specializes in working with a diverse group of clients and populations, aged 15 years of age and older. She has worked in the public education system for many years as a high school teacher and school counsellor. Her passion is in helping people navigate life’s challenges to achieve meaningful change.
As a counsellor, Susan has experience helping individuals who struggle with:

- Negative Thinking and Intrusive Thoughts
- Relationship Issues and Interpersonal Dynamics
- Grief and Loss
- Depression and Emotional Well-being
Using a client-centered framework, Susan offers a warm, compassionate, and safe space to share your story. She believes counselling can be an integrative expression of mind, body and spirit. Together with her clients, she develops an individualized approach that promotes growth, empowerment, and healing.
Coming to counselling is an act of self-compassion, connection, and hope. Through a trauma-informed approach, Susan can help you develop healthy coping skills, build greater resilience, enhance interpersonal relationships and foster a deeper sense of self.
